Built in the beginning of the 17th century this castle probably is the most colorful of its kind. The Moorish ornaments were added later though. It once housed a luxury hotel. Several decades ago it then was vacated. The colorful rooms allow astonishing views, some of them captured in this album.

Shot at the abandoned radio station Propaganda Bullhorn. Buildt during world war 2 its main purpose was broadcasting the national socialists’ propaganda. Most of the techincal equipment is still in place, including a huge diesel engine which was supposed to provide electricity in case of a blackout.

Captured in the abandoned Villa Wonka. It was just the sentrance hall which attracted my attention, as color and style are rather unique.

Remains of the former VEB Trabant in eastern Germany. Amongst other places, the famous east German icon was assembled here.

Captured in the abandoned Power Mower Mansion. Buildt in the 16th century it once was a luxurious residential building which later was converted into a psychiatric hospital for children. Everything that reminds of a madhouse has been removed by now, probably due to its doubtful history during these years. However, some luxury of the past has survived until now.

Taken in an old medical train in Eastern Germany. A few of these trains used to stand by at different railway stations across Eastern Germany as mobile army surgical hospitals in case of armed conflicts. However, none of these trains has ever been field-tested.

Taken in the abandoned Manicomio Di Anime in Italy, a former madhouse. From the equipment still left one can only guess how inmates were treated and what experiments were executed on them. Walking through the empty corridors and cells reminds one of a bad horror movie set in a psychatric clinic. At any time you expect some crazy doctor to walk towards you in one of the empty corridors.

An abandoned mansion that used to accomodate a nursing home. Even though it is rather trashed today, there still is medication from the mid 20th century around – as well as books keeping records of the patients treated in this facility.

Another abandoned villa in Austria which holds some secrets in the attic. The major part of the furniture has been vandalized or removed, but there are still several nice perpectives to take shots from.

Once missiles were produced here, later the area was converted to a military base. New buildings were added in the sixties, but only 30 years later they were abandoned.
